Maybe the 80s are the juppiest decade?

"Tänd ett ljus" by Triad, "More Christmas" with Adolphson & Falk and "Happy new year" with Abba in any case dominate the Swedes' Christmas favorite list from 2021, which Stim releases today.

But last year, three new Swedish songs, more than usual, managed to enter the top list.

Carola's "Coming home till julen" took fifth place on the list, followed by Darin's "What's christmas anyway" and John Lundvik's "Welcome Christmas" from 2021 appears in eighth place.

Even among international artists, Swedes prefer to listen to songs from the 80s.

George Michael's "Last Christmas" tops and "Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues and Kristy MacColl is third.

The exception in the top three is Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas is you" from 2007.

"The difficult thing is to achieve the real Christmas magic.

On this year's list, there are a total of three new songs that have succeeded, which is very impressive," says Robert Gehring, membership manager at Stim in a press release.

Before Christmas 2021, Kulturnyheterna interviewed Lasse Lindbom in Triad about how much money lighting a candle still brings in:
