The Guadeloupean artist with a light and lively musical style, Francky Vincent, was named Knight of Arts and Letters this year.

With hundreds of thousands of records sold with explicit songs that have become familiar to everyone, the 66-year-old singer is rewarded for the "radiance" brought "in France and around the world".

An unexpected recognition.

At the age of 66, Francky Vincent was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, we learned thanks to our colleagues from

La Première.

A distinction published by a ministerial decree on November 25 which went almost unnoticed.

An artist with explicit songs

The artist with multiple hits, known for his willingly saucy repertoire,

You want my zizi, Alice it slips, Fruits de la passion,

is rewarded for the "radiation" that he brought "in France and in the world" by his music.

Being appointed to the Order of Knights of Arts and Letters is not trivial.

The conditions of attribution, defined by decree, state that this order is "intended to reward people who have distinguished themselves by their creations in the artistic or literary field or by the contribution to the influence that they have made to the influence of the Arts and of Letters in France and in the world", can we read on the website of the Ministry of Culture.

450 named knights

Other artists have been named alongside him: Aurélien Cotentin better known as Orelsan, humorist and actor Régis Laspalès, director Julia Ducournau, who won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for her film

Titane ,

 or the journalist Sonia Devillers.

The Order of Arts and Letters is one of the four ministerial orders with the Order of Academic Palms, the Order of Agricultural Merit and the Order of Maritime Merit, "to have been maintained after the creation, in 1963, by General de Gaulle, of the National Order of Merit bringing together most of the ministerial orders", indicates the Ministry of Culture.
