The government intends to pay an innovation bonus to teachers' unions.

The device will be presented to them next January, reports the site

Les Echos

.

Initial discussions with teacher representatives about this bonus did not go over well.

The Ministry of National Education, however, indicated that it wanted to "remove misunderstandings about the financing and the scope of the bonus".

A bonus, in addition to the FIP

The system consists of remunerating teachers who enroll in educational projects financed under the educational innovation fund (FIP).

The announcement of the latter had been made before the rectors of the academy last August.

Endowed with 500 million euros over the entire five-year period, the FIP makes it possible to finance projects by allowing the purchase of equipment or the payment of services.

The bonuses will be backed by the FIP for the teachers who take part.

The objective is to value the time spent on the projects.

The economic and financial media were able to consult the draft decree and the decrees initially programmed.

It mentions six amounts of bonuses for teachers in schools, colleges and high schools, including private establishments under contract).

The allocations would amount to 250, 500, 750, 1,000, 1,250 and 1,500 euros per school year.

This is "extra money", says one in the entourage of the Minister of Education Pap Ndiaye.

A short-term device?

Other remunerated activities, such as the coordination of eco-delegates or the role of cultural or digital referent, will keep the budgets provided for this purpose.

The categorical envelope provided for in the Finance Act also remains valid.

The innovation bonus could also have a limited duration.

The future teacher “pact” wanted by Emmanuel Macron is likely to replace her in September 2023.

The first presentation of the bonus project decided by the rectors was far from having received the consent of education professionals.

Representatives of headteachers and supervisors said they were unconvinced by its usefulness.

Unions opposed to the device had pointed the finger at the division and the competition that the bonus would create where a more general revaluation was expected.
