The City of Rodez (Aveyron) has decided to offer a package to all residents over the age of 70, on the occasion of the end of year celebrations.

A first for the municipality, which wishes to make this initiative a moment of exchange and conviviality, relays

this Tuesday.

The goal defended by the mayor (LREM), Christian Teyssèdre, is to break with the loneliness of certain seniors and to encourage them to share the content of the gift with loved ones.

The municipality also wishes to make a gesture towards a population heavily impacted by the Covid-19 epidemic.

Elected officials and staff involved

The package will contain a terrine, a jar of chutney, a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine.

It can be picked up at the town hall between December 12 and 23 (from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday).

The citizens concerned will receive a letter by La Poste.

The packages made by municipal staff will be delivered by the elected officials themselves, in turn.

The town hall of Rodez plans to prepare 3,200 parcels and if this operation is a success, it will be continued.
