The Guardian

reports , for shooting Ryan Fischer during the kidnapping.

Other charges against him were dropped as part of a guilty plea.

Another man involved in the case had been sentenced to four years in prison, a sentence reduced following an agreement.

A third accomplice took six years.

In February 2021, Ryan Fischer walked Lady Gaga's three French bulldogs near Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.

He was then attacked by several men who kidnapped two of the dogs, Koji and Gustav.

Injured in the chest, the dog-sitter had been hospitalized.

The dogs were returned two days later, dropped off at a police station.

To forgive

Ryan Fischer, who reminded the court that his attack had caused him health problems and financial worries, showed great magnanimity.

He addressed his attacker.

" I forgive you.

With the attack, you completely changed my life.

I know I won't be able to completely forget the night you shot me until I say these words to you,” he said.

Referring to the dogs, the former dog sitter said how "grateful" he was that they were unharmed.

“They were sent back and returned to their mother.

I don't think I could have lived with myself if they were dead,” he added.

Lady Gaga, who offered a $500,000 reward for the return of her dogs, has yet to comment on the verdict.
