In Nairobi, the summit on peace in eastern DR Congo ended on Tuesday after a week of negotiations, and several suspensions, in particular following the Rutshuru massacre.

Facilitator of the East African community, representative of the Congolese government, armed groups and civil society finally signed the roadmap supposed to lead to an end to the conflicts in the East of the country.

The M23 has issued a statement, in which it says it is ready to withdraw from the territories it occupies in the east of the country and to support the peace process initiated in Luanda on November 23 and the ceasefire declared the same day.

And at the same time the toll of the massacre in the village of Kishishe was revised upwards by the Congolese authorities.

They now speak of around 300 dead, including 17 children.

The rebel movement of the M23, pointed out, rejects these accusations.

Kinshasa, which does not intend to stop there since the Minister of Justice Rose Mutombo is currently in The Hague in the Netherlands to request the opening of a war crime investigation at the ICC.

And neighboring Rwanda is raising its voice.

Kigali accuses the international community of "exacerbating tensions" in eastern DRC.

An accusation that comes after a phone call between Paul Kagame and Antony Blinken.

The US Secretary of State “said clearly that all external support to non-state armed groups in the DRC must end, including that of Rwanda to the M23”.
