Ivana Davidovic is from Serbia. She is 42 years old and has lived and worked in Nanjing, China for 12 years. She has rich international teaching experience. Currently, she is the teaching director of the Sino-American class in Nanjing No. 13 Middle School.

Adhering to the belief of "doing a good job as a friendly envoy of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries", she has won the title of "Zijin Friendship Envoy of Urban Internationalization" in Nanjing, and the Excellence Award in the "Nanjing Foreign Teacher Stories" Speech Contest.

  Recently, Ivana was interviewed by a reporter from China News Agency.

During the interview, Ivana's "authentic" speech and behavior revealed the traces of her life in Nanjing for more than ten years.

  Ivana has been very interested in the cultures of various countries since she was a child, especially Chinese culture. When she was in high school, she signed up for the school's Chinese class and yearned for life in China.

In August 2010, Ivana majored in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages ​​at Nanjing University, and came to China to study and live as she wished.

During her Ph.D. study, she taught the course "Intercultural Communication" for international students in China, helping international students better understand and appreciate Chinese culture.

  In 2018, Ivana was employed as the teaching director of the Sino-American class in Nanjing No. 13 Middle School. She integrated Chinese and foreign educational concepts and taught students in accordance with their aptitude. In four years, the Sino-American class has been recognized by all teachers and students in the school.

She said that Chinese children are very hardworking and active, and they are also very creative.

After personalized education, children become more confident and sunny.

  Ivana said that Nanjing is a beautiful, comfortable city that makes people feel happy, and she does not feel that she is a "outsider", saying that she is very lucky to meet this city.

I like Nanjing Confucius Temple, Xuanwu Lake and other scenic spots, and I will accompany my children to enjoy a good weekend.

Now, Ivana, who has a family in Nanjing, feels more at ease, and her children can also speak Nanjing dialect.

In her spare time, she also participates in various public welfare activities.

Ivana told reporters that if she had to use one word to describe her life in Nanjing, it would be warm, inclusive and open Nanjing that embraces everyone.
