After a scorching summer, a prefectural decree was issued at the end of October to limit the use of water in the Marne.

The prefectural decree in question ended on November 15 and "has not been renewed", announced the prefecture on Wednesday.

"Precipitation for the months of September and October is now in excess," she added, quoted by

Avoid waste

This means that the main activities that consume water, such as watering or filling swimming pools, no longer have a negative impact on water reserves.

However, the prefecture calls for caution and good citizenship, notes Le Pays Briard.

It invites people to “not waste water, by avoiding non-essential uses and more generally by adopting responsible and water-efficient behaviour”.

Pond owners are particularly called upon to be extremely vigilant.

They are invited to be careful when emptying in order to avoid the dumping of undesirable species, the increase in the temperature of the watercourses or the clogging of the river bed.
