An online petition has been launched to demand the reinstatement of the bus driver who was recently fired in Haute-Vienne.

While he had taken to dropping off a schoolgirl in front of his home for security reasons, the man was dismissed for serious misconduct, the company Europ Voyages accusing him of having made "wild stops".

"We ask the manager to please reinstate this driver who has simply shown common sense in these times when insecurity is increasing considerably and who is appreciated by all parents of students", can we read in the description of the petition, posted on mesopinions.com.

The NUPES deputy for Haute-Vienne, Damien Maudet, invited Internet users to sign, in a video posted on Twitter.

No request to change stops

Renaud Lagrave, vice-president of the Region in charge of Transport, assures the newspaper that no request has been received to modify stops in the areas concerned.
