Almost a year has passed since Will Smith took off an anthology slap to Chris Rock during the ceremony of the Oscars.

However, after having kept a low profile for many months, the actor is preparing to return to the screen in

Emancipation

, an Apple TV + film, and he is well aware that the pill may not have passed yet for everybody.

"If someone is not ready, I will absolutely respect their position," he said in a video interview with journalist Kevin McCarthy shared on Twitter.

However, Will Smith hopes that the sad gesture he has committed will not penalize Antoine Fuqua's new film as well as all those who worked on it.

A powerful movie

“My biggest concern is my team.

Antoine has done what I think is the greatest job of his entire career.

The members of this team have done one of the best jobs of their entire careers, and my deepest hope is that my actions do not penalize them, continued Will Smith.

I hope the power of the film and the timeliness of the story will open the hearts of people who see it to a minimum and that they will recognize and support the incredible artists who participated in it.
