A river has nourished the ancient civilization and witnessed the long-standing friendship between China and Laos.

A section of railway connects high mountains and big rivers. There is love that breaks through national boundaries and beauty across mountains and rivers.

December 3, 2022 is the first anniversary of the opening of the China-Laos Railway.

From December 1st, China News Network and China News Agency Yunnan Branch jointly launched a series of short films "Beyond Mountains and Rivers" (Beyond Mountains and Rivers) co-produced by China and Laos. "Weaving", "Taste", "Road", "Root", "Dream", "Love", "Aid", "Home", "Music" and "Like" 10 chapters, telling about a Laotian female mechanic, a Laotian daughter-in-law in Yunnan, and medical staff on the China-Laos border , Lao Chinese and other groups, showing the changes and longings that the China-Laos Railway, a road of friendship and happiness, has brought to the lives of the two peoples.

Today, we release the third short film "Weaving".

From the perspective of Shanghai textile designer Bai Lue, the film tells the story of her making a "Laos Fashion Week appointment" with her friends when she was studying textile skills in Laos.

Due to the impact of the global new crown pneumonia epidemic, Bai Lue failed to go to Laos for the appointment as scheduled. She chose to come to Pu'er, Yunnan, to search for ancient villages with similar cultures to Laos, draw textile inspiration from them, and attend the appointment in another way.

She looks forward to the day when she can bring Chinese designers and their works to the unfinished promise on the China-Laos Railway.
