Elton John had planned a big surprise for his fans, to whom he said goodbye with his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
The artist revealed it this Friday: it is therefore a date at the legendary Glastonbury festival.
The interpreter of
Tiny Dancer
will be on the Pyramid stage for the last day of this Glasto 2023, which will take place from June 21 to 25.
“There is no more fitting way to say goodbye to my UK fans.
I can't wait to embrace the spirit of the biggest festival in the world.
This is going to be incredibly moving,” the star confessed in a statement relayed by the BBC.
"This will be the last show in the UK of Elton's final tour, so we will close the festival and mark this great moment in our history for both of us with the greatest of farewells", promised Emily Eavis , organizer of the event.

Elton John did not hide his enthusiasm at the idea of playing in this festival considered to be one of the most important for taking the pulse of contemporary music.
“Every week I talk to new artists on my radio show and Glastonbury is often cited as a pivotal moment in launching their careers.
The festival's genuine and enthusiastic support of top emerging talent is something I have long admired.
After his show at Glastonbury, Elton John will only have seven dates left in total before definitively retiring from touring.
