"We can't come these days. It's cold, and the earthworms have entered the deep soil. The main thing is to keep moisture. As long as the greenhouse is covered, there should be no major problems." Han Fatomai said to the person on the other end of the phone.

Being on the plateau, Han Fa Tumai has been wondering whether the natural environment of Xunhua can breed earthworms.

As she continued to learn and learn, she saw cases of successful earthworm farming in many places in Northeast China. She felt that the environment in Northeast China was similar to that of Xunhua, so she thought of giving it a try.

In 2021, through continuous learning and contact, Hanfa Tumai introduced the first batch of earthworm seedlings from Liangshan, Shandong, and raised them in a two-acre greenhouse in Wutubei Nahai Village, Jiezi Town, Xunhua County.

"There was no experience in the first year, and a lot of knowledge and technology were not in place. We have a relatively strong wind by the Yellow River, and the greenhouse cloth will be blown to pieces or blown away at any time, and the loss is quite large." Han Fatumai recalled that in the end, last year The mu of land only earned more than 20,000 yuan, which was far from her previous expectations.

While talking, Han Fa Tumai showed the details of earthworm farming before. In the picture, the standard earthworm fields in the breeding greenhouse are neatly arranged, and the surrounding migrant workers are busy watering and fertilizing the earthworm fields with small rakes, squatting down from time to time to turn them Mounds of wriggling little earthworms in earthy brown.

"Every time I go to the field, I take my little grandson with me to build roads and dig the ground. The face of the doll is black and red. Everything is difficult at the beginning, but I believe it will succeed. This year we raised 4 acres and improved the tarpaulin. , and then learn and communicate with breeding experts, this year’s harvest is not bad.” Han Fatumai said that after harvesting the earthworms, they were cleaned, dried, and sent to Lanzhou, Xinjiang and other places. The market is very good this year, and live earthworms can be sold per catty It can be sold for 70 yuan per catty after drying, and the annual profit per mu has reached about 200,000 yuan.

Han Kelimu is a villager who works in the earthworm breeding cooperative. He earns 150 yuan a day: "I have been in the cooperative for more than a year. I have work every day. I can take care of the old and the young at home with money. It is easy for us to work. Raise the earthworms well, and people in the village can come to work here in the future.”

In recent years, Wutubei Nahai Village, Jiezi Town, Xunhua County has organized party members and masses to participate in the training of leaders in getting rich, and learned advanced technologies and concepts, and their thoughts have been brought alive.

According to the "branch + cooperative + farmer" model, by extending the agricultural industry chain, it not only effectively improves the ability to resist risks, but also allows the villagers to taste the sweetness brought about by expanding the form of industry.

"There are new industries and new ways to get rich in the village. Next, we will replicate this model and mobilize more people to actively participate in the whole process of earthworm introduction, cultivation, processing, and sales in the form of migrant workers and stock ownership. Expand, make the processing procedures more standardized, and expand the sales channels again, so that earthworm farming will become a golden signboard for our village to get rich." Han Xueliang, Secretary of the Party Branch of Wutube Nahai Village, is full of confidence.

Han Pingliang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiezi Town, introduced that by "organizing groups to help villages, party members and cadres claiming, and people's participation", the "two committees" of villages are encouraged to drive villagers to establish rural joint-stock professional cooperatives, so that villages with resources can start by relying on resource advantages. Villages without resources rely on learning advanced technology to develop and enhance the independent "blood-making" function of the village collective.

The village-level industry has grown from scratch, from weak to strong, and the village collective economy has continued to grow and develop.

"Next year, I want to expand the breeding area to 12 mu, make good use of the superior geographical environment here, try to raise toads with better overall income, use earthworms as feed for toads, and create a green ecological industrial chain based on earthworm farming, so as to drive The surrounding villagers have increased their income and become rich," said Han Fatumai.
