Eurovision winner Loreen returns to Melodifestivalen 2023 together with the songwriters behind "Euphoria".
This year she participates with the contribution "Tattoo", a love song with both energy and dynamism according to the artist.
- It's about unconditional love that is engraved like a tattoo on the body.
This round will be Loreen's fourth in the Melodifestivalen, previously she has participated in 2011 and 2017 when she got the second chance.
The most attention is of course 2012 when she won the entire Eurovision song contest as the fifth Swedish entry ever.
But she doesn't cling to old feats now that the time has come again.
- There is no pressure in that way, because I have to speak the truth of today, not the truth of the past.
The whole of Tiktok's "mother" takes the stage: "A childhood dream"
One who, on the other hand, steps up to the middle stage for the first time is Tiktok artist Emil Henrohn, 25, with the contribution "Mera mera mera".
A contribution that, according to Henrohn, should "bring back the hit" to Melodifestivalen.
- This is what I have been waiting for my whole life, it has been number one on my list since I was ten years old, he tells Kulturnyheterna.
During the pandemic, he made great strides on the app with the song "Jag är mamma", a parody of middle-class mothers of young children.
In the Media Academy's Maktbarometer for 2022, he was named the most powerful person in Sweden on the platform.
- I think that many of my followers will be shocked by my participation because they take me for: "I am a mother".
Of course it's an advantage to have a lot of wonderful followers, but I can't force them to like my song.
Norwegians or Nordman?
Other acts joining the singing competition are the Norwegian twin brothers Marcus and Martinus with the contribution "Air".
And maybe they have wind in their sails as they won "Masked singer" on TV4 as recently as May.
Middle-class Mariette competes with the contribution "One day", she has previously participated in the competition four times.
The group Nordman also returns to the Melodifestivalen with the contribution "Släpp alla sorger".
