In September last year, a Nagano prefectural assembly member was arrested for murdering his wife at his home in Shiojiri. Interviews with investigative officials revealed that he was avoiding roads and running on mountain roads and moving from the direction of Nagano City to the direction of his home.

The lawmaker has denied the charges, saying, "I was staying in Nagano City on the day of the incident."

Daisuke Maruyama (48), a member of the Nagano Prefectural Assembly, was arrested on suspicion of murder last September after suffocating and killing his wife Nozomi (47) at his home and store in Shiojiri.

According to investigative sources, Maruyama denies the charges, saying, ``On the day of the incident, I stayed at the assembly hall in Nagano City and was away.''

On the other hand, according to interviews with people involved in the investigation, on the day of the incident, a car very similar to the car that the lawmaker usually uses was not on the highway or main road, but on a side road or a mountain road from Nagano City to Shiojiri City. I know it was moving in the right direction.

There are machines that read car license plates on highways and major national roads, but there was no record of the lawmaker's car on that day, and the route was determined by analyzing the images of hundreds of security cameras.

Police believe he avoided main roads to hide his intentions to go home.
