The fight against sexual and gender-based violence on Nantes university sites is one of the major concerns of Carine Bernault, the president of the University of Nantes.

A plan of around fifty actions was thus launched in May 2021. To go further, an unprecedented partnership agreement with the Nantes public prosecutor's office, but also the police and the gendarmerie, has just been signed this time. .

Objective: "to make exchanges more fluid", "to facilitate the monitoring of procedures", and to provide better legal and psychological support for potential victims among the 42,000 students and all the staff of the university and the Crous.

The France Victims Association is also a signatory to the agreement.

The system is intended to complement the listening and reporting cell against acts of violence and discrimination also initiated in 2019 by the university.

In early 2023, a survey based on an anonymous questionnaire will be launched on campus.

"Students will have the opportunity to confidentially report situations of sexual and gender-based violence of which they have been victims or witnesses in order to be taken care of", announces Nantes University.
