According to the work report, as of the end of September 2022, 1,123 townships in Guangdong Province have basically achieved full coverage of domestic sewage treatment facilities, and a total of 1,060 township domestic sewage treatment facilities have been built, with a total treatment capacity of 6.1517 million tons per day. The supporting pipeline network is 19,800 kilometers.

　　According to reports, Guangdong issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for Urban Domestic Sewage Treatment in Guangdong Province", which clarified the timetable and roadmap for the construction of urban domestic sewage treatment facilities in the province during the "14th Five-Year Plan"; "Double Transformation, Double Upgrading" Quality and Efficiency Improvement Evaluation Measures for Domestic Sewage Treatment (Trial Implementation), guides prefectures and cities to continuously strengthen facility operation management in accordance with the evaluation rules, and promote a significant improvement in collection and treatment efficiency.

　　The report shows that the efficiency of sewage collection and treatment in Guangdong has improved significantly.

From January to September 2022, the average domestic sewage collection rate in cities above the prefecture level in the province will reach 76.2%, an increase of 14.1 percentage points from 2018.

　　At the same time, Guangdong insists on maintaining the same direction and strength, and continues to make up for the shortcomings of urban domestic sewage collection and treatment facilities. From 2021 to September 2022, the province will add 7,571 kilometers of urban sewage pipe networks.

As of September 2022, the province has built 75,700 kilometers of urban domestic sewage pipe network and 419 sewage treatment plants with a total treatment capacity of 29.76 million tons per day.

　　As of the end of September this year, a total of 154 facilities for the harmless treatment of domestic waste have been built in Guangdong Province, with a total treatment capacity of 160,800 tons per day, and a harmless treatment rate of 99.95% of domestic waste. The number of facilities and treatment capacity rank first in the country for many years. The processing capacity accounted for 81%, and 10 cities including Guangzhou, Dongguan, Huizhou, and Zhongshan achieved zero domestic waste landfill.

　　In addition, Guangdong promotes the completion and operation of key projects that have been delayed for a long time, such as Maoming Western Guangdong Hazardous Waste Disposal Center and Shanwei Medical Waste Disposal Center.

As of September 2022, the province's hazardous waste utilization and disposal capacity will reach 11.3 million tons per year, with a more reasonable capacity structure and more balanced regionalization, basically meeting the province's hazardous waste utilization and disposal needs.
