The Ghanaians won 3-2 against the South Koreans on November 28 in Al Rayyan.

A success thanks to which they can still qualify for the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup. For that, it will be necessary to achieve a good result against Uruguay, a selection which had deprived André Ayew and the Black Stars of a place in the last four of the 2010 edition. Interview with the Ghanaian captain.

André Ayew, with this 3-2 victory against South Korea, the Ghana team is relaunching in Group H of this 2022 World Cup.

André Ayew:

it revives us, yes.

The last match is going to be very complicated.

But we will prepare for that.

It will take the necessary time to.

We see that there are a lot of surprises during this World Cup.

So we have to be ready for anything.

In any case, this victory boosts our morale.

This is good for our country but also for the whole continent.

Now, place to this match which will be very important, Friday, against Uruguay.

During the match against the South Koreans, you were leading 2-0 but were caught in the score.

How do you explain this relaxation?

At the end, we pocketed the three points and that's all that interests me… There are things to correct, it's true.

But we are used to always wanting to look only at the bad things and not at the positive.

South Korea is still very strong and it was a very difficult match.

Yes, there was that little slack at some point.

But we are going to re-watch all that to analyze what happened and correct it for the future.

When the South Koreans equalized at 2-2, what did you say to yourself to try not to lose control of the situation?

With the players in attack that we have, when I see our offensive potential, with Jordan (Ayew), Inaki (Williams), (Mohammed) Kudus, I know that we can score at any time.

I always have confidence in my team's ability to score.

Your next opponent, Uruguay, deprived Ghana of a World Cup semi-final in 2010. How will you approach this meeting?

I am the only survivor of this match.

Most of my teammates didn't experience that moment.

But whatever.

What matters is qualifying.

Not just for Ghana, but for all of Africa.

If we can have several African countries that pass in the round of 16, that would be really good.
