American singer and actress Irene Cara dies

Oscar-winning singer and actress Irene Cara, the 63-year-old performer of the two main songs for the popular 1980s films "Fame" and "Flash Dance", has died, the artist's manager announced Saturday.

And Judith Moss, in an interview with Agence France-Presse, indicated that Kara found a body on Friday inside her home in Florida, explaining that the cause of death is not yet known.

And Moss confirmed in a statement issued earlier that Kara "had a great talent and her legacy will remain present forever through her musical works and the films in which she participated."

Kara is best known for her performance of the theme song to the 1980s movie "Fame".

The song deals with the triumphs and tribulations of students at the High School for the Performing Arts in New York.

In the film, she played the role of Cook Hernandez, who was written for her after she was initially chosen to be a dancer in the business.

Thanks to this role, Cara was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Singer.

Cara also co-wrote and performed the song "Flash Dance... What's A Feeling" for the 1983 movie of the same name, about the life of an aspiring dancer played by Jennifer Beals.

And in 1984, thanks to this song, Kara won an Oscar for Best Original Song, in addition to winning two Grammy Awards.

In her childhood, the artist took music, dance and singing lessons, and appeared in theatrical productions and television programs, including “The Tonight Show” presented by Johnny Carson, which constituted a big step that made her a prominent name in the field of entertainment shows in the United States.

At an early stage of her career, Kara participated in films including "DC Cap" and "City Heat" and a large number of TV shows.

She has performed in plays and musicals.

Social media was flooded with posts about Irene Kara.

And an account in the name of Joe Lake wrote: "On behalf of every teenager who lived during the eighties of the last century, danced in front of the mirror to the tune of the song + Fame +, and dreamed of attending high school for the performing arts .. Thank you, Irene Kara. Rest in peace."
