Kurdish security forces controlling the Al-Hol camp, which hosts the families of Islamic State jihadists in northeastern Syria, were targeted on Wednesday (November 23) by Turkish airstrikes.

"The Turkish air force carried out five strikes against the Kurdish security forces (Assayech) inside the camp," Farhad Chami, a spokesman for the Syrian Democratic Forces (dominated by Kurdish fighters), told AFP.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights for its part reported that the strikes had targeted positions of Kurdish forces outside the camp, "sowing chaos" in the camp.
