A major power outage occurred in a large part of Tarn-et-Garonne on Monday.

About 60% of the department was affected for nearly an hour, between 4:58 p.m. and 5:43 p.m.

Lightning is believed to be the cause of this failure.

It would have fallen on an RTE post in Montauban, according to a communication officer from the electricity transport manager.

Rail and road traffic disrupted

A crisis unit has been activated by the prefecture to try to manage the situation as well as possible.

Because many activities have been disrupted, in particular the SNCF network.

Several lines were affected and suffered delays.

The SNCF had lowered all the level crossings, for safety reasons, which therefore also disrupted road traffic.
