The introduction of compulsory technical inspection for two-wheelers from 2023 worries professionals in the sector.

They deplore in particular the vagueness that currently reigns around this measure.

According to the National Automobile Federation (FNA), it would take two years of preparation to put this device in place, report our colleagues from BFMTV.

However, this measure was indeed ratified by the Council of State on October 31, 2022. “The texts will be ready before the end of the year and there will be a public consultation at the start of 2023 for application by the end of the 1st half of 2023”, confided to our colleagues a close friend of the file.

A schedule that has not been officially confirmed by the Ministry of Transport.

biker protest

For their part, the two biker associations (FFMC and FFM) tried to oppose this measure once again during a meeting on November 9, 2022, in vain.

“But we are not giving up, this measure is useless”, hammered Didier Renoult, spokesperson for the FFMC.

Faced with this situation, demonstrations are already planned for Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November by the Federation of Angry Bikers.

The control centers fear they will be forced to organize themselves urgently, without having all the information, to put this measure in place.

"We don't even know who will have to move the vehicle, the owner or the controller, knowing that for pollution, the driver's size and the engine capacity affect emissions," lamented Emilie Repusseau, deputy secretary general of the FNA.
