Check an Instagram video before sitting down to chat;

she knows that she has to upload it because "if she is not on Instagram, it has not happened".

And she teaches it to get a second opinion.

But

Lili Reinhart

(Cleveland, 1996) is one of those who

uses the networks for something more than self-promotion

: hers is online

awareness

and activism.

The face of her that she became known through the series '

Riverdale'

is now one of the most vocal in the

audiovisual industry;

an area where

curtains would have to be drawn to let the public see what's behind the scenes

.

Luckily, there seems to be hope.

What does it mean to be the face of the future for Max Mara? Honestly, at first I didn't know it was such an important thing, but after doing some research, I realized that it's a huge honor.

Sometimes I forget that I am an actress and that I have a production company

, that I do more than mental health activism.

Also, I tend to get caught up in the chase for 'what's next', always aiming for something more, so recognition like this makes me pat myself on the back and

celebrate what I've done so far.

Which is not little.

You don't stop working and talking, with a speech that is very much from the present, but also from the future. Yes, I see myself as a woman from the future, and I'm flattered that others do.

I plan to be around a long time

, so it's great that many people want me to be here. And you've been here for a long time, because you started working very young.

Although you still are, are you afraid of getting old?

Yes, I think so, especially as an actress.

When you start working young, you are constantly compared to your older self.

I'm 26, but I started Riverdale at 19, and talking about my career is one thing, but

comparing how I look now to how I looked as a teenager is absurd

.

Now

I am a woman, and my face and my body will reflect it

.

There are people who get stuck in the past when it comes to looking at you, and that can be hard.

It seems that

we are not allowed to grow old, and I want to,

and that's why I really appreciate women in the industry who accept that aging gracefully. Like who? Like

Jane Fonda, Hellen Mirren or Julianne Moore

.

Women who have had long careers, who are beautiful, and who are still working.

It's just that

"getting old" even seems like a bad word, it's something cultural

.

And in Europe it is accepted more than in the United States;

From my experience,

I feel that European actors and actresses are treated like beautiful treasures on their birthdays, and I don't see that as much in North American culture

.

Maybe when I turn 70, things will change.

Do you think that you somehow have the power to make changes in the audiovisual industry? Maybe so.

I take a position on many things and have a lot to say,

especially when it comes to diet culture and age.

Okay, I'm 26 and people are going to tell me to shut up because what do I know about getting older, but as I get older, what I stand for will become more frequent and louder.

And

I'm not afraid to talk about it, and I hope that other women around me also talk more about the 'secrets' of the industry

: diet culture, Photoshop, the pressure not to age, fixing your face... I think people are not transparent about it, and I want to be.The audience appreciates that honesty.Yes, because

it's something you can relate to

.

Most of the actresses, models or influencers portray a perfectly edited life.

Those women don't attract me much;

I prefer people who are more approachable and more human,

who have not been sucked into the culture of the industry.

COURTESY OF MAX MARA

Have you ever been taken seriously because of your age?

Of course, including myself

.

For example, I have a

production company

that has already made two films, but I don't identify myself as a producer yet, because

I feel like people think I haven't earned it yet

.

It's up to me, but

it seems that because of my age, I have to prove more.

But in a way it's exciting, because I still have so many parts of myself to show the world. Have you experienced more weird things in fiction or in real life? 'Riverdale' is just as weird as it gets [laughs].

And I feel very lucky to have been on a show that spans so many different genres.

I feel like I've been in a horror movie, science fiction, action, drama, comedy...

Whatever category there is, 'Riverdale' has

it, so it's all very strange and theatrical, but that's what makes it interesting. Are we ever going to get tired of seeing the same themes in fiction? I don't think so, because In the end

it all comes down to basic human emotions: love, hate, fear, joy.

Of course, there are so many human experiences to explore that perhaps there are some other emotions that we have not taken advantage of.

For example, the

duel

.

I think grief would be a really interesting thing to explore in a movie, not just through the lens of death, but through the pain of a relationship.

I think that, especially in your twenties, nobody really prepares you for the end of a friendship, for people who come and go;

someone who can be your best friend for a few months and then stop being... These are things that can cause you whiplash.

And those are just a few aspects that could be delved into beyond the typical narratives. Where do you find beauty? Honestly, in

nature

.

I think I

live in a world oversaturated with makeup, hairdressing, glamour, style, clothes, photographs...

So I feel very at peace in nature.

And I'm not even a very country girl, because for example, I don't like hiking, but I do appreciate a good sunset.

I think I find beauty in things as simple as that.
