The United Nations conference on climate change countermeasures "COP27" held in Egypt is having difficulty in negotiations over financial support for "loss and damage" caused by climate change.

Egypt, the chair country, is aiming to extend the session by one day and reach an agreement, but the gap between the opinions of each country is large, and the situation remains unpredictable.

At COP27, which has been held since the 6th of this month, there were conflicting opinions between developed and developing countries, and no agreement was reached by the end of the session on the 18th, and negotiations continued with the session extended by one day. I'm here.

Against this backdrop, on the 18th, Egypt, the chair country, presented a draft outcome document for the first time toward an agreement.

With regard to financial support for the "loss and damage" caused by climate change, which is the biggest point of contention, while expressing strong concerns about the destructive losses that are increasing in various places, it is particularly important to support the support sought by developing countries. There was no mention of the creation of a fund that was converted into a fund.

Developed countries, which are cautious about creating a fund,

are considering several options, such as whether

to decide to establish the fund this time, whether

to carry it over to next year, or whether

to provide support regardless of the type of fund .

I haven't found a destination.

Negotiations are continuing with the aim of reaching an agreement by the end of the 19th, but the situation remains uncertain as to whether countries will be able to overcome their differences and reach a compromise in the remaining time.
