The actor Brendan Fraser, who is currently celebrating his comeback in Hollywood with the tragic comedy “The Whale”, wants to turn down the walk on the red carpet at the Golden Globes even if he is nominated.

He has too much "history" with the organizers of the award ceremony, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the fifty-three-year-old now alluded to the alleged sexual harassment by the former HFPA boss Philip Berk in the magazine "GQ".

After cinema successes like "George - Who Came Out of the Jungle" and "Mummie" Fraser unexpectedly retired from the film industry more than ten years ago.

The Canadian-born American said in 2018 that depression hit him after Berk grabbed his crotch during a meal in Beverly Hills.

Berk, who was forced to leave the company of the foreign press in Hollywood over allegations of racism, called Fraser's allegation "fictitious" at the time.

However, he admitted to having written to the actor shortly after the alleged assault in 2003 to apologize.

As Fraser now hinted in "GQ," the Hollywood Foreign Press Association backed Berk at the time.
