A newspaper deliverer rescued a subscriber from a dangerous plight in a small village in the Vosges Mountains of France.

The messenger first noticed that the editions of the daily newspaper "Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace" from several days were still in the mailbox, the newspaper reported on Thursday.

The deliverer then asked the newspaper that the subscription had not been canceled, they said.

When the mailbox was still not emptied the next morning, the messenger raised the alarm in the mayor's office of Bourg-Bruche.

The fire brigade and police arrived and found the elderly resident lying on the floor and suffering from hypothermia, but alive.

As confirmed by the mayor's office in the 400-inhabitant town, the mayor personally took care of the emergency and accompanied the helpers.

Later they also reached the old woman's son.

The lady conveyed a special thank you to the attentive delivery man with the help of the newspaper.

As the newspaper reported, on Tuesday the messenger found a note on his stack of newspapers that he had to deliver: "Hello, the subscriber thanks you for saving her life."
