Frankfurt-based Universal Investment is the latest financial services provider to announce an inflation bonus.

The background is a regulation by the federal government that allows employers to give employees a tax and duty-free bonus of up to 3,000 euros until December 31, 2024.

It is intended to help cushion higher energy and food costs.

Here is an overview of all known participating banks and other financial service providers:

Universal Investment

wants to pay employees in Germany an inflation bonus of up to 3,000 euros in January.

According to the plans, employees will receive 1,500 euros, non-tariff employees even 3,000 euros.

Part-time employees receive the full bonus.

Bankhaus

Metzler

wants to pay non-tariff employees 2,000 euros.

Full-time employees should now receive 1,000 euros tax-free after a one-off payment of 500 euros made in August.

Another one-off payment of 500 euros is planned for January, which Metzler hopes to be able to transfer tax-free.

The

Hamburger Sparkasse

, the largest savings bank in Germany, wants to pay its employees a special bonus totaling 3,000 euros.

All full-time employees will receive 1500 euros in December and another 1500 euros in December 2023.

This also applies to trainees.

Part-time employees receive a pro rata bonus.

LBBW

plans to pay employees in Germany a total of EUR 2,000 in two tranches.

The first amount of 1200 euros should be transferred by December 1st, the remaining 800 euros will follow in February.

Trainees, part-time employees or employees on parental leave also benefit fully from the special payment.

The

Hamburg Commercial Bank

(HCOB), the former HSH Nordbank, wants to transfer 3,000 euros to the accounts of most employees - regardless of whether they are part-time or full-time.

This also applies to dual students. However, senior employees of the bank are explicitly excluded from the regulation.

Deutsche

Bank

is paying its employees in Germany an additional EUR 1,500 this year to deal with high inflation, it said.

The bonus will be transferred with the December salaries and applies to all pay scale employees.

For the coming year, the payment of a further 1500 euros is being considered.

Targobank

wants to transfer a bonus of 3,000 euros to its full-time employees, half of which

will be paid out in December 2022 and half in December 2023.

Trainees and dual students each receive 1,000 euros on the same dates.

In the case of part-time work, the amounts are paid proportionately.

Reisebank , a subsidiary of DZ Bank, wants to

pay

full-time employees a subsidy of 1,800 euros in December.

900 euros are planned for trainees.

The regulation is part of a collective agreement.

According to their own statements, the majority of employees are covered by the collective bargaining agreement.

ING

Germany plans an inflation bonus of 1500 euros for full-time employees.

Part-time employees, trainees and participants in dual studies receive at least 1000 euros.

The subsidy is to be paid out with the December salary and will also go to employees who work outside of collective bargaining agreements.

DKB

, subsidiary of BayernLB, has announced an inflation bonus of 1500 euros.

The special bonus is to be transferred in January.

All full-time and part-time employees at DKB and its subsidiaries receive the full inflation compensation premium, regardless of their level of employment.

Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe

wants to transfer a tax and duty-free inflation bonus of 1,500 euros.

The Frankfurt private bank is scheduled to pay out this December.

Part-time employees receive the bonus pro rata.

Working students are also given 300 euros.

The

Münchener Hypothekenbank

has opted for an inflation bonus of 1000 euros for full-time employees, regardless of whether they are employed under a collective agreement or not.

Part-time employees receive a proportion of the bonus.

Payment is planned with the December salary.

In addition, trainees and working students receive 500 euros.

Commerzbank

pays a maximum bonus of 2,000 euros in December

Local employees and junior staff receive 1,000 euros.

For non-tariff employees and employees of international subsidiaries, it is 500 euros.
