Sham Al-Bakour told "Emirates Today": "Books may not change our pain, and they may not protect us from evil, and they may not tell us what is good and beautiful, but they give thousands of possibilities, including the possibility of change and enlightenment. Books are the safe repository in which writers and scholars are placed. Thinkers are their ideas and the results of their knowledge.

During the closing ceremony, he presented a report on the life of Sham Al-Bakour, who lost her father in an explosion during the Syrian war.

Sham's mother, Manal Matar, spoke to "Emirates Today" about her journey in raising Sham, saying: "The fates wanted Sham to lose her father when she was a little girl, and we went through difficult circumstances after this painful loss, but it was necessary to complete her father's dream, because I am I see hope in her eyes, and I worked on nurturing her by instilling a love of excellence within her, and she was keen to enhance all the skills she possesses.”

Matar pointed out that she was keen to instill confidence in God in Sham throughout the challenge period, expressing her feeling of pride because Sham had won the title for Syria, stressing that this victory would increase her responsibility to maintain the first place in her life path.

Tunisian Adam Al Qassimi, who achieved second place, expressed his joy at reaching this stage after taking on the challenge with more than 22 million students from the Arab world.

Al Qasimi dedicated his victory to the Tunisian people, thanking the supervisor and the family who spared no effort to support him to reach this rank, praising the initiative that celebrates the Arabic language.

Jordanian Rashid Al-Khatib achieved third place in the challenge after a journey of determination and participation in three courses. He pointed out that his feeling of achieving this center is indescribable, especially since it was a dream for years and he was able to achieve it after a long journey between books.

Al-Khatib gave advice to the students to stick to determination and persistence, and not just read, and added: "I could have participated in one course, but I was armed with determination to achieve the dream and success."

She noted that the students, after the end of the isolation during the Corona pandemic, had refrained from reading, which constituted a burden on teachers, especially since a group of school libraries were closed, and that is why I worked to find a small library at the lowest costs and attract books from the supporting authorities, taking into account the status of books Which is suitable for reading and participating in the challenge.

She pointed out that she also intended to attract children to read through plays that present imaginary characters to create enthusiasm.

The winner of the third session of the Arab Reading Challenge, Moroccan Maryam Amjoun, captivated the audience with her gentle voice, as she was a guest at the closing ceremony, and presented an excerpt from the book “My Story” by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Mary cried the audience with her sweet voice and manner, especially when she was telling the passage of Sheikha Latifa's death, "Mother of Dubai", and the feelings with which His Highness embodied the painful loss of his mother.
