Ryan Reynolds will apparently never stop.

The Deadpool

star

, who has already bought a football club in Wales with Rob McElhenney, now wants to go further.

As he explained on the

Tonight Show

, he now wants to buy the Ottawa Senators, a team from the NHL, the North American hockey league.

“I'm trying to buy out the Senators.

It's very expensive, so I need a partner with very deep pockets.

It's called a consortium, when you form a group to buy an entity, and it's a fancy way of saying, "I need a sugar daddy."

And if that doesn't work, I'll buy an American senator, which is within everyone's reach,” he said, half-jokingly.

Sooner or later

Senators owner Eugene Melnyk died last March and ever since, fans of the team have known his family would sooner or later seek to get rid of him.

In fact, last Friday, the franchise announced its intention to sell the club.

“It was a necessary and prudent step to connect with deeply interested parties who can show us what their vision is for the future of the team.

A condition of the sale will be that the team remain in Ottawa,” Senators president and governor Sheldon Plener said in a statement, relayed by CNN.

Good news: Ryan Reynolds is deeply attached to Ottawa and its region.

"I grew up in Vancouver, which has always had my heart, but I also grew up in Ottawa, Canada, because I spent a lot of time in Vanier, which is a small town in the interior of Ottawa,” he told Jimmy Fallon.

It remains to be seen whether the actor will find the necessary money.

According to

Forbes

, it will cost approximately $775 million to buy out the franchise.
