In his first email, Elon Musk told Twitter employees that remote work is no longer allowed, warning of "difficult days".

Musk, who completed the $44 billion takeover of the popular social media platform just two weeks ago, has cut half the workforce and fired several senior executives.

He also announced a series of measures, including charging an eight-dollar fee for a blue check mark subscription.

In the letter, the report said, Musk said he looked forward to subscriptions accounting for half of Twitter's revenue.

Musk's move is in line with the policies followed at his other two companies, "SpaceX" and "Tesla", where he required employees to work from offices for at least 40 hours a week, or leave their jobs.
