A new hospital will see the light of day in Bohars (Finistère).

A project that is part of the recomposition of the psychiatric care offer at the Brest CHRU.

Its capacity will be 234 beds and 76 places “with particular attention paid to patients and respect for their dignity, an improvement in healthcare organizations and working conditions for professionals”, explained the director general of the CHRU.

This new hospital will be built on the current Bohars site;

Work should begin in 2024 and will have no impact on the reception of the current establishment.

They will be carried out, in two stages, until 2026 and then in 2028.

A 55 million euro project

Some services will have to be relocated, in particular addictology and daytime activities, which will move to Morvan Hospital and Delcourt-Ponchelet.

Two structures that already have psychiatric activities.

The project is supported by Brest Métropole and provides for the use of certain renewable energies such as biomass, photovoltaics and solar thermal.

It amounts to a total of 55 million euros, including 15 provided by the Ségur de la Santé.
