His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, a sensitive poet and writer, realized many years ago that building nations is not only done by building high-end and modern cities, as this is easily achievable, but the most difficult It is to build minds capable of making change, advancing people, and creating civilization.

His Highness also realized that one hand does not clap in order to achieve this endeavour, and that the challenge is to build minds at the level of the nation, not a specific country, and that thought needs roots, and these sources are available in schools that cultivate a love of reading in young people.

Hence the idea of the challenge of reading, so that a new generation of the nation's sons will be formed who appreciate the value of science, draw from all kinds of knowledge, and build civilization.

This is the most successful investment, because its returns will put us on the right path to resume our Arab civilization by building new generations capable of elevating their societies.

Yesterday, His Highness said: "Thank God, we concluded today the activities of the Arab Reading Challenge... a competition in which 22 million students from 44 countries participated in reading 50 books each academic year."

His Highness stressed that the challenge of reading is a challenge to create a civilization that begins with enlightening minds through the book.. It is a challenge for all of us to implement the first commandment that came down from heaven to earth.. “Read.”.. Our goal is to have a reader in every home.. We will not create a better future for our Arab youth. Without reading or knowing.

And he, may God preserve him, had mentioned that the Arab reading challenge is the biggest and most successful investment in the Arab mind and Arab awareness, and its return will put us on the right path to resume our Arab civilization by building new generations capable of upgrading their societies.

There is no doubt that this competition, which has succeeded in an unprecedented way in the Arab world, has created an atmosphere of competition among millions of young people who competed to read 50 books every year, and in fact they are racing towards building a better tomorrow for themselves, their people and their nation.

It must be said here that in light of the difficult circumstances that the nation is experiencing, the decline it is witnessing at many levels, and the successive crises that besiege it, there is no way to salvation except by arming itself with science and knowledge, because they are the lifeline for all of us, and they are the tool that will make us a future among nations.

This is the goal that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid aspires to, and sought to achieve six years ago, when he launched the Arab Reading Challenge. To high missions to accomplish.

He is her.
