The superhero Black panther, also known as the heir to the throne King T'Challa, was played by actor Chadwick Boseman in the first Black panther movie.

In 2020, Boseman passed away from cancer and since then several fans have wondered how a new film will be able to be made without him.

- They have chosen to honor Chadwick Boseman by also mourning him in the film.

This is not a superhero who will be played by another actor, but also his character T'Challa dies in the new film, says culture journalist Ayan Jamal who runs the podcast "Salon ett".

According to Jamal, it is unique that the film's lead role is not replaced by a new actor but also passes away in the film.
