Lady Di ages, so it would be 25 years after the fatal accident
These are the jewels that will be buried with Queen Elizabeth II and those that Kate, Camila and Meghan already have
The beauty lessons we learned from Lady Di and still work today
Lady Di's shadow is so long that even today, everything that has to do with the princess becomes news.
Especially if we refer
to her style,
because
Diana Spencer
was a woman who
set trends
wherever she stepped in the 80s and 90s, and until today.
A constant example is Kate Middleton herself, who does not hesitate to drink from the past looks of her mother-in-law to create her current outfits.
But the
Duchess of Cambridge
is not the only one who is reflected in the mirror of Diana of Wales.
The last sign of this is given by her who plays her in the fifth season of
'The Crown',
which finally arrives on
Netflix.
Her,
Elizabeth Debicki,
has been praised for her ability to blend in with the princess in the series (something that actress Emma Corrin already did in the fourth season).
Outside of the small screen, however, Debicki has something to say, too.

Elizabeth Debicki, the Lady Di of 2022 at the premiere of 'The Crown'

Yesterday
the red carpet for the premiere
of the fifth season of 'The Crown' was held in London, a parade of gala looks where Debicki powerfully attracted attention.
The actress chose an impeccable
Haute Couture dress by Dior,
with a strapless neckline draped across the chest.
The
golden bracelets,
also from the firm, as a complement.
Nothing to object to the look, but something to add,
Elizabeth Debicki's nod to Lady Di.

This is found in
the shawl
that the actress wears around her neck, like a choker, and that falls down her back almost like a tail.
Because the story is there to remind us that this detail
was already carried by Lady Di before...
(and, beware, not only her).
Lady Di at Cannes in 1987
It was 1987 and today
King Charles III and Diana of Wales
were attending the
Cannes Film Festival.
There, the princess did not go unnoticed in
a light blue chiffon dress
with a shawl as a scarf or stole, just as Debicki wore it yesterday.
Signed by designer
Catherine Walker,
the design also featured a criss-
cross draping detail,
this time at her midriff.

This dress has more history.
It was auctioned in 2011 by the auction house
Julien's Auctions in Los Angeles
and acquired for about
90,000 euros.
Curling the curl, from Grace Kelly to Lady Di
But beware, this is like a Russian doll of style tributes.
Because if in 1987 Diana of Wales wore that light blue Catherine Walker dress with a built-in stole, it was her peculiar way of winking at another princess of style, neither more nor less than
Grace Kelly.

The Monegasque princess wore a very similar model in

in the film
'To catch a thief', by Alfred Hitchcock.
A fashion circle that closes, for now, with Elizabeth Debicki.
