The Polytechnique engineering school, via a vote of its board of directors, has accepted the sale to the LVMH group of land in Saclay (Essonne).

The plot belongs to the public development establishment of Paris-Saclay (EPAPS) and to the higher establishment.

Its sale may, however, be subject to a veto by Polytechnique until 2025. The project is displeasing among students and former students.

LVMH wants to build its 22,500 m2 research center on "sustainable and digital luxury" on this land, in which the group plans to invest 100 million euros and host 300 researchers, according to France 3 Paris Ile-de-France. .

The company has promised to devote 2 million euros per year for five years to partnerships with Polytechnique.
