Rigobert Song, the coach of the Cameroon national team, unveiled a list of 26 players selected for the 2022 World Cup, this November 9 in Yaoundé, just after a 1-1 draw against Jamaica.

Rigobert Song was quick to unveil the list of 26 Indomitable Lions who will defend the colors of Cameroon during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (November 20-December 18).

As soon as a preparation match against Jamaica ended in a 1-1 draw, the coach announced the identity of the lucky ones, this November 9, 2022 in Yaoundé.

The experienced Nicolas Nkoulou, who was there at the 2010 and 2014 Worlds – just like the attackers Eric-Maxim Coupo-Moting and Vincent Aboubakar – confirms his return to central defense.

Rigobert Song has also retained two elements of the local championship, Souaibou Marou, attacker of Coton Sport Garoua, and Jérôme Ngom, resident of Colombe de Dja.

Several notable absences

In the end, 16 of the 28 players present at CAN 2021 at home will go to Qatar.

Among them, however, we do not find Harold Moukoudi, Michael Ngadeu, Clinton Njie, Stéphane Bahoken, Jérôme Onguéné or James Léa Siliki.

The latter should follow the matches against Switzerland (November 24), Serbia (November 28) and Brazil (December 2) in front of a television.
