It is not yet operational that it has already entered into legend.

Royal Caribbean International launched the sale of tickets for cruises aboard the ship

Icon of the Seas

(Icone des Mers in French) on October 25th.

Sales that "beat all records," said a senior company official in an interview with

Travel Weekly

.

The inaugural cruise will not take place until 2024 but it is already sold out.

All tickets were sold out in less than a month.

Also according to Bert Hernandez, the vice president of international sales, the cruise ship has “got triple the most bookings we have ever had for a new ship”.

At least 40% of reservations would have been made by customers traveling with at least one child and 60% by couples.

Customers preferred a 7-night stay.

The 7,500 passengers will be able to discover the eastern and western Caribbean, departing from Miami (United States).

Several stops are planned, notably in Mexico, Saint-Martin and even in Honduras.

The ship also claims to be the "largest aquatic center in the seas" with its seven pools and slides in number.

A reservation at nearly 100,000 euros

To take advantage of such a trip, you have to pay at least 1,000 dollars, the equivalent in euros.

But it is possible to add different options, which can quickly drive up prices.

The vice-president of international sales told

Travel Weekly

that a reservation for 94,000 dollars, or as much in euros, had been made for an ultimate family suite.

The English paid 77,000 dollars.

At the moment, the

Icon of the Seas

is still under construction in Finland.

It should be the largest liner in the world at the time of its delivery, thus surpassing the

Wonder of the Seas

also owned by Royal Caribbean International, recalls
