  On November 8, the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism organized the "Cultural and Tourism Open Day" event.

The reporter followed the media and learned that Shandong Province continues to polish the brand of "Haidai Archaeology", extend the historical axis of Chinese civilization, revitalize historical scenes, strive to break the barriers between archaeological work and society in the new era, and effectively utilize archaeological achievements and archaeological resources.   According to Xu Bo, deputy director of the Shandong Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology (hereinafter referred to as the "Research Institute"), the predecessor of the Institute was the Shandong Ancient Cultural Relics Management Committee established in 1948.

In recent years, the research institute has carried out the project of "Exploring the Origin of Chinese Civilization" and the major project of "Archaeological China" "Research on the Civilization Process of Haidai Area", focusing on archaeological excavations of a number of important prehistoric sites such as Gangshang, Jiaojia, Chengziya, and Tonglin. , carried out research on the origin of civilization in the Haidai region, explored the path of early states in the region, and made "Shandong's contribution" to the demonstration of the 5,000-year history of Chinese civilization.

  It is understood that since the beginning of this year, the research institute has carried out archaeological work on dozens of key projects in Shandong Province, including 8 expressways including Linlin Expressway, Mingdong Expressway, and Dongliang Expressway, as well as Qingdao Guanlu Reservoir and Shuhe River Basin Reinforcement Project. In addition, there are a large number of local construction projects, nearly 320 archaeological surveys and explorations, 57 excavation projects, and more than 3,000 tombs were rescued and excavated.

  As the first provincial-level underwater archaeology professional research institution in the country, Liu Yanchang, director of the Shandong Underwater Archaeology Research Center, said that the center was established in 2015 and is mainly responsible for the investigation, excavation and research of underwater cultural relics in Shandong Province; the protection of underwater cultural relics and the Use and so on.

In the past period of time, Shandong Underwater Archaeology Research Center has focused on the underwater archaeological investigation of coastal, Weihai Bay, Dingyuan shipwreck, Dongping Lake and its submerged area underwater archaeology.

"This provides brand-new information for the application of the 'Maritime Silk Road' to the World Heritage List and the research on the Sino-Japanese naval warfare."

  Liu Yanchang said that the Shandong Underwater Archaeology Research Center accelerated the transformation of achievements, made effective use of archaeological achievements, carried out academic exchanges, promoted Chinese excellent traditional culture to go out, and enhanced the influence of Chinese culture.

At the same time, the center has set up an exhibition room to hold the Shandong underwater archaeology exhibition to enrich the cultural life of the people.

  It is reported that in the first half of 2022, Shandong Underwater Archaeology Research Center completed 5 active archaeological survey, exploration and excavation projects.

Among them, the archaeological exploration projects include the archaeological exploration of the Nanjia site in Zibo Economic Development Zone, the investigation and exploration of the Xipodi kiln site in Zichuan District, and the archaeological investigation and exploration of the Warring States Tomb in Xixi Village, Yangxin County, Binzhou; archaeological excavation projects include the Tiemenguan site in Lijin County, Kenli Haibei Ruins.
