A woman has a “wonderful” ability to cure cancer

Cancer scientists have estimated that a woman with a special ability to cure cancer may hold the keys to the next revolutionary treatment for the disease.

Researchers Marcos Malopres and Carolina Villaroya said that the miracle patient who beat dozens of cancerous tumors could finally hide the secret to curing the deadly disease.

The researchers from the Spanish National Center for Cancer Research in Madrid said that women are "programmed" to develop various forms of the horrific disease due to a mutated gene, but their immune system generates a strong anti-inflammatory response that fights growth naturally.

They emphasized that this offers "pioneering" hope for early cancer diagnosis and new drugs to treat the condition.

The unnamed patient, now 40, had 12 tumors, at least five of which were likely to get progressively worse.

Doctors confirmed that, like a miracle, the five severe cancers that the patient developed disappeared with relative ease.

The woman first developed cancer when she was a child, but every few years it reoccurred with different types all over her body.

"This exceptional case opens the way for the detection of cells that have the potential for tumor long before clinical tests and diagnostic imaging can be carried out," the newspaper quoted the "Daily Star" as saying.

"It also provides a new way to stimulate the immune response to a cancerous process," he added.

During the study, the researchers used a state-of-the-art technique called single-cell analysis - which provides a wealth of information.

Professor Malombris added: "The continuous production of the altered cells led to a chronic defense response in the patient against these cells, and this helps the tumors to disappear."

He concluded, "We believe that enhancing the immune response of other patients would help them stop the progression of the tumor."
