An online petition was launched against a hunt organized in Pont-Sainte-Maxence (Oise) on October 29.
A deer pursued by dogs had swum across a river before taking refuge under a pontoon.
He had been shot under the eyes of many walkers, who shouted at the hunters not to fire;

The video of the deer being killed had circulated on social networks and in the media.
The next day, the petition was created to demand justice for the animal killed by a bullet in the head.
More than 40,000 people have already signed the text, sent to the Minister of Justice and that of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion.
Faced with the indignation of the inhabitants, the mayor had filed a complaint against the hunting crew.
According to him, their action endangered walkers on this very busy path, even though a decree prohibits hunting 300 meters around the houses.
The hunters had claimed to have fired on the territory of another municipality.
