The eighth wave of the Covid-19 epidemic is showing flagrant signs of running out of steam in Isère.

The circulation of the virus is indeed close to its lowest level since the beginning of 2022, when the fifth wave ended.

Data from October 30, relayed by

Le Dauphiné Libéré

, indeed indicate an incidence rate of 271 per 100,000 inhabitants.

Since the fall of 2020, no wave of Covid-19 had been so weak.

The health situation has improved markedly in the department since mid-October.

The circulation of the disease was at its highest in the eighth wave on October 10, with an incidence rate of 914. This, however, fell by 53% during the last week of the month.

In Isère hospitals, the virus is also receding, but in a less visible way.

In critical care, the number of patients with Covid-19 fell by 12% in seven days and the occupancy rate of intensive care beds by these patients fell by only 2.3%.
