He explained that the matter is not about secret talks, but rather it is a channel of communication between the two sides in this dangerous crisis, expecting that the White House wants to tell Russia that it supports Ukraine and does not aim to change the regime in Russia.

He also indicated that America is not conducting negotiations between the two countries, but rather is trying to draw a red line so that the picture becomes clear for Russia and what is unacceptable in Russia's behavior, as well as warning that President Putin's talk about nuclear weapons may have dangerous repercussions.

It is noteworthy that the "Wall Street Journal" quoted data on contacts between Washington and Moscow, citing officials as saying that secret contacts that took place in recent months between US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and his counterpart, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, and Yury Ushakov, assistant to the Russian president;
