During the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to Egypt a few days ago, pioneers of social networking sites re-circulated a picture of Sheikh Mohammed that he had published himself five years ago on his Twitter account.

A picture of him dating back more than six decades (1959) when he is ten years old with the late leader of Egypt Gamal Abdel Nasser, and the late President Anwar Sadat appears with them as well.

And spread with the photo a rare video documenting the occasion of the photo, which is the visit of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum to learn about the features of the Egyptian Renaissance at that time.

In the video, President Abdel Nasser is shown handing the "United Arab Republic" necklace to Sheikh Rashid, may God have mercy on him, and the First Class Medal of the Republic to Sheikh Mohammed.

I looked at the picture of the Sheikh accompanying his father walking confidently with the adults, and I turned to his picture a few days ago and President Sisi received him at the Federal Palace in his capacity as Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and a continuous tape of pictures of Dubai’s transformations jumped to my mind. I was fortunate to witness light stations Of which.

Between the image of meeting the leader Abdel Nasser and the image of the meeting with President Sisi 63 years full of successive achievements, successes and developments transformed Dubai from a small city sleeping on the shoulder of a barren desert to one of the fastest growing cities in the world, as it set its sights on turning into the happiest city in the world.

Dubai’s concern, led by Sheikh Mohammed, was accumulating achievements, not achieving a goal without setting it on a further goal, and how happy I was to participate in pivotal stations of this success when it presented the opening ceremony of the Burj Khalifa and the longest driverless metro network in the world, and Dubai Opera, which hosted the pioneering project “Reading Challenge” This year, more than 22 million students participated.

And the appetite is still open to development until this city deserved the description “Planet of Dubai”.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum returns to Egypt - which is in the conscience of every Arab - to celebrate with the Egyptians 50 years of stable brotherly relations between the two countries, laying the foundation stone for another 50 years of brotherhood, cooperation and joint action.

And my happiness with this meeting is indescribable.

I - like every Arab - had an Egyptian impact in my formation due to what the culture of “Mother of the World” inscribed in us with her books, films and songs, in addition to my seven-year residence there during my graduate studies, and I still believe that the United Arab Emirates is the modern face of human civilization with its development and continuous quest for progress. Egypt was also the ancient face of her great pharaonic history.

Egypt is the big sister to all Arab countries, and it is pleased with the progress of the Emirates, which honors the entire Arab Gulf, not just the country.

The Sheikh went with his father as a dreamy child to Egypt, and he returned to it as a leader crowned with success, bringing with him an exceptional experience to open the door to the future in what serves the peoples of the two countries, summarizing half a century of cooperation and understanding in a sentence he said: “Egypt and the Emirates are one heart.”

The appetite is still open to development, so that this city deserved the description “Planet Dubai”.
