The "Osaka Acute and General Medical Center" in Osaka City, where medical care has been greatly affected by a cyberattack by a ransomware-type virus called "ransomware," has received a request from a company that delivers meals to patients. It was revealed that there was a high possibility that a virus had invaded.

This was announced at a press conference on the 7th by Kazuhiro Iwase, director of the Osaka Acute and General Medical Center.

According to that, as a result of the investigation by a specialized team dispatched by the government in response to the cyber attack, it was confirmed that a large amount of unauthorized access was made to the hospital's server from a business in Sakai City, Osaka, which delivers meals to patients. It turned out that the data center of this business was also infected with "ransomware" in the same way as the hospital.

The security of this operator's data center remained at an old version, so the hospital said that it is highly likely that the virus entered the operator's system.

According to the hospital, there are nearly 1,300 terminals connected to 31 servers that have been confirmed to be infected with the virus, which is more than half of the hospital as a whole. I am planning to rebuild.
