We may be in an amusement park, but the event will be taken very seriously.

The prefecture of Vienne indicates this Monday, that it will organize Tuesday, November 15 a civil security exercise simulating an attack, on the site of the Futuroscope park, in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou in the suburbs of Poitiers.

The Futuroscope “will then be closed to the public”, she specifies.

“The objective of this exercise is to test the Orsec plan (organization of the Civil Security response) and more specifically its Novi provision (many victims) in order to allow an adequate reaction in the event of a serious event that could lead to many victims.

This will include testing the coordination between the different actors, the alert chains, the intervention protocols, and the care of the victims and those involved.

A parade of security forces expected

We must not give in to panic that day.

The inhabitants of the sector must indeed prepare to witness a veritable parade of security forces and rescuers, throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“During this exercise, intervention vehicles, gendarmes, police officers, firefighters will be deployed in the Futuroscope park area, warns the authority.

Soundtracks of detonations may be heard and helicopter overflights may take place.
