The delegations of the Arab Reading Challenge, the largest reading event of its kind in the Arabic language, arrived in Dubai yesterday to participate in the final stage of the sixth edition of the competition. The closing ceremony will be organized the day after tomorrow at the Dubai Opera to announce the Challenge Champion, the winners of the Distinguished School Title, the Distinguished Supervisor and the Communities Champion.

The Arab Reading Challenge team, officials and cadres from the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives" Foundation received 360 people, including delegations coming to Dubai from various countries participating in this session of the Arab Reading Challenge.

The stars of the Arab Reading Challenge, who came from 44 countries, received an exceptional reception at Dubai Airport, which welcomed their arrival with a stamp designed specifically for them bearing the Arabic Reading Challenge logo.

Dubai Airport was the starting point for a comprehensive educational entertainment program prepared by the organizers of the Arab Reading Challenge for the finalists, in parallel with their preparations for the final competition for the titles of this session.

The delegations of the Arab Reading Challenge included the champions of Arab countries and the champions of communities from 26 non-Arab countries, in addition to the top 10 from each Arab country, a number of supervisors and school officials, in addition to the delegations of the last version of the challenge who were previously honored by default due to the pandemic.

For her part, Sarah Al Nuaimi, Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Office, welcomed the visit of the champion students from the Arab Reading Challenge to Dubai to participate in the final qualifiers for the sixth session of the challenge.

She said: "We are on the cusp of the closing ceremony of the sixth session to announce the Challenge Champion for this largest edition in the history of the Challenge. 22.27 million participants competed in 44 countries in this session, and the finalists who arrived in Dubai are the elite of these competitors and the elite of distinguished readers at the level of countries and communities." .

She added, "We are proud of them and happy to welcome them in Dubai and in a number of its most prominent landmarks. We wish them all success in the final qualifiers."
