The audience of the 41st Sharjah International Book Fair enjoyed the humorous play “London Apartment”, starring Tariq Al Ali, Elham Al Fadala and Juma Ali.

Over the course of two hours, "London Apartment" discusses many social issues that touch the Gulf reality, and tells about three Arab families who meet in the first chapter of the play in a restaurant in London, to take a break away from their work and family obligations.

While the main plot revolves around the suffering of the hero of the show, Tariq Al-Ali, in finding a suitable apartment for rent, in the middle of the British capital crowded with tourists, before the story moves to the second chapter of the show, which witnesses a series of humorous situations between the characters after they had to live together in one apartment.

Tariq Al-Ali expressed his happiness at being invited for the first time to present a show in Sharjah, in addition to participating in the first theatrical show for adults, as part of the Sharjah International Book Fair.

He said, "Sharjah today is one of the important cultural stations in the Arab world, and a beautiful destination, especially in theatre."

While Ilham Al-Fadala said: "Theatrical participation outside Kuwait bears us responsible for raising the name of our country and its art, because we always want to present Gulf art in a better way."

For his part, the director of the Kalba Theater, the Emirati actor, Juma Ali, expressed his happiness in the state of harmony that appeared on stage, in the first participation of an Emirati artist in a Kuwaiti theatrical work.

The show "London Apartment" was presented over a period of three days, during which the audience witnessed a show that distinguished the actors' ability to improvise, which caused a repeated state of laughter and fun interaction with the audience.
