The results of the competition for projects that can benefit from the participatory budget of Angers (Maine-et-Loire) were revealed this Wednesday at the town hall.

The big winners are the two creators of a locker made available to the homeless, each developed on their own.

Their ideas, finally put together, seduced 4,300 voters, reports

.

This 27-year-old doctor and this 25-year-old specialist in ecological transition have imagined storage units allowing the homeless to store their possessions in complete safety.

In these lockable blocks sheltered from the weather, they can store documents, food, clothing, hygiene products or even bedding.

The beneficiaries will therefore no longer be obliged to carry all these objects with them.

Lockers are actually units with six storage spaces each.

Four of these structures will eventually be set up in Angers, which is one of the six cities that have adopted the system.

The solidarity lockers won almost 1,000 votes more than the proposal that came second.
