The Jiangxi Provincial Meteorological Observatory released news on the evening of the 3rd that the severe drought in the province has lasted for 115 days, making it the most arid area in the country.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, this is the worst meteorological drought in Jiangxi Province since 1961.

  On the same day, under the premise that all the coordinated support work was in place and the test flight was successful, an artificial rain enhancement aircraft supported by a certain Air Force unit in Jiangxi started its first operation, took off from Nanchang Changbei Airport, and carried out operations in the morning and afternoon.

  Both operations adopted the method of folded lines and circling operations in key areas. In the morning, the operation passed through Nanchang, Xinjian, Fengcheng, Linchuan, Chongren, Nancheng, Le'an, Nanfeng, and Yihuang and then returned, and in the afternoon, the operation passed through Poyang and Yugan. , Yingtan, Zixi, Jinxi, Dongxiang, Jinxian, Duchang.

  According to statistics, the average flight speed of the two operations was 390 km/h, the operating altitude was 4,800 meters, and the total range was about 3,000 kilometers, which lasted 8 hours and 32 minutes, and burned a total of 44 tobacco rods.

  According to Yang Xiaolan, head of the Jiangxi Provincial Weather Modification Center, the aircraft operation can directly fly into the cloud to spread the catalyst.

  It is understood that on October 31, at the request of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, the air force crew that flew this artificial rainfall enhancement operation came to Nanchang, and is expected to support the artificial rainfall enhancement and drought relief operation in Jiangxi until March next year.
