The Isère branch of the French Blood Establishment (EFS) noted a sharp drop in donations made in October in the Department.
The figures fell by 13%, said this Thursday on France Bleu Isère the communication officer of the local organization Morgane Frechin.
The official said she was worried about the stocks of blood to be transfused to the sick, while the winter weather is making its appearance.
She fears that there will be fewer donors due to bad weather and seasonal illnesses.
This is why Morgane Frechin called on the inhabitants of Isère in good health to come and donate their blood.
Group O people are particularly welcome at mobile collection points or fixed centres.
Objective 10,000 donations per day
The communicator explained that social crises and fuel shortages could have explained a decline in blood samples.
She also recalled that 10,000 donations were needed every day nationwide, including 1,400 in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.
